Tover Tone-Up is a single-component, water-based acrylic primer designed to enrich the natural beauty of wooden floors. Its warm toning effect subtly enhances the colour of the timber, making it especially effective on exotic wood species or any floors where a deeper, more vibrant finish is desired.

Formulated for use as a first coat, Tone-Up is compatible with all Tover water-based lacquers and delivers a professional-grade result that adds character without glazing or obscuring the wood grain.

Where to Use

Tone-Up is suitable for use on all unsealed wooden floors in residential, commercial, or high-end interior settings. It is particularly recommended for:

  • Exotic or richly toned hardwoods

  • Floors requiring a deeper, warmer finish

  • Projects demanding fast drying and minimal odour

  • Use before applying Tover water-based lacquers such as Home Maxi 

Application Instructions

  1. Sand the wooden surface thoroughly, finishing with 120–150 grit mesh.

  2. Clean and vacuum the surface to remove all dust and debris.

  3. Shake the product well before use.

  4. Apply a single coat using a roller or brush.

  5. Allow 2–3 hours drying time.

  6. Follow with your chosen Tover lacquer.

  7. After the first coat of lacquer, lightly sand with 180–220 grit before applying the final coat.

Important Notes:

  • Not suitable for sanding – do not sand Tone-Up directly.

  • Avoid applying in direct sunlight or draughty conditions.

  • Do not pour product directly onto the floor – use a suitable container.

  • Frost-sensitive – store indoors at all times.
